Where in the World is my Fanfic Folder?

...Apparently it was in the recycle folder. I have no memory of putting it there. I only found that the folder was missing from my desktop when I went to save a fic I was working on and couldn’t locate the fic folder.

And yes, everything in the fic folder was fine. I now have an extra copy backed up to my Dropbox, just to be sure I won’t lose my fic.

Yeah, there's a few WIPs in there I'd hate to lose, among other things. I really can't explain how it got into the recycle bin!

I guess that's one advantage of my (otherwise bad) habit of posting each chapter as I complete it - I never have to worry about losing WIPs (unless AO3 goes down, heaven forbid). Also I do all my fic writing in Evernote, so I don't even have to bother with local copies. It's probably not the "best" system (so the extent that one can objectively say any system is "best"), but it works for me.
