Rum Discussion

First off, here’s what we know about Rum:
-He has an artificial eye.
-No one in the BO can agree on what he looks like. Some say he’s a big guy, some say he looks feminine, some say he’s an old man, and some say that those are descriptions of his body doubles.
-Rum is second in command.
Right now our biggest Rum suspects are Kansuke and the new police officer, Hyoue. They both have traits that point to Rum.
Reasons why Kansuke could be Rum:
-Missing eye
-Big guy
-Could look feminine from a distance if his hair is loose
-Cane could make him look old from a distance
-The newest chapter has him comment that Hyoue “looks like the boss of some organization”, followed by Komei saying that Kansuke’s face has that look too.
Reasons why Kansuke might not be Rum:
-Rum has a prosthetic eye. Kansuke does not.
-Kansuke has met Haibara, and he did NOT trigger her BO sense. She was scared more because of the “half-kill” misunderstanding and the bullet holes in the car.
Reasons why Hyoue could be Rum:
-Eye injury. (We still don’t know if he has a prosthetic or not, though Uehara does speculate that he has one.)
-His hair changed to white due to stress from the accident that injured his eye. (It’s mentioned that this caused him to look like a different person)
-Could have looked like a big man before accident, but white hair after accident could could cause him to look old.
-I found some discussion on DCTP that says that his name could sound feminine. I can’t be sure of this one though, as I do not know Japanese and can’t confirm if Hyoue is a feminine name or not.

-In File 920 Hyoue is transferred to Tokyo, outright says that he knows Conan is the brains behind Sleeping Kogoro, and (maybe) sets off Haibara’s BO sense at the end? (Note: I got this info from DCTP, will update to be more accurate when the file is translated to English.)
Reasons why Hyoue might not be Rum:
-It’s too perfect. Possible red herring?
-Hyoue was in a coma for ten years, which is a long time in terms of how long the BO has been going. Rum is second in command, and likely doesn’t have time to be in a ten year coma.
Update: (March 17, 2015) Gosho has revealed that Rum has appeared, but Kansuke is NOT Rum.
